The Hinged Opener is ideal for flat roofs where you’d like to install a skylight and features a contemporary, minimal
design with frameless glazing that lets water run away without collecting in the casing. It features a concealed chain
actuated mechanism which can be operated by a wall-mounted switch or remote control and rain sensor, allowing you
to open part way, or up to 250mm, to let air into the room below.
Because the aluminium frame sits outside your aperture, you’ll see more glass and enjoy more natural light than with
competitor rooflights which base their sizes on the external, making them up to 20% smaller with less natural light. If
your property is overlooked by another, you can choose the optional Satinova glass to protect your privacy, but still, allow
plenty of light through into your room. Overall, our hinged-opening rooflights are perfect for kitchens and rooms
where you need to ventilate and introduce fresh air and sunlight.
To comply with building and safety regulations, all rooflights must be fitted with an upstand to keep the glazing unit
raised above the surface of the roof and with a minimum of a 5 degree fall to promote rain run-off. The upstand will
need to be pre-weathered (flashed in) which can be done with your chosen roof membrane or a separate flashing kit.
This is not the responsibility of Roof Maker and will need to be completed by your builder or roofing contractor.
